REVIEW: "A no nonsense, kick the crap out of everyone who gets in your way action movie. Liam Neeson's character is the angry love child of Bourne,Bond and all the other pretenders put together. If I was asked to cast the movie I guess he wouldn't have been my first choice but having seen it I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have in the role. The fight choreography is bone crunchingly good. This is one kick ass flick and one I will definitely buy on DVD. There's little doubt who the bad guys are and they get a very satisfactory smack in the mouth - when they aren't being shot or electrocuted. This was made by people who like the genre and know how to get an action movie from A to Z..." - Written by StevinTasker on IMDB.com

STORY: "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is a magical phenomenon unlike anything ever before seen onscreen. Borrowing largely from cinema's horror conventions, the film begins as an innocent young couple is stranded at the home of a mad scientist who is building the perfect man. The castle is filled with a most bizarre group of characters who worship their master, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, played magnificently by the fabulously sexy Tim Curry, in leather jacket, pearls, fishnet stockings, and heavy makeup. Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) are forced to examine their own sexuality as the voluptuous doctor releases the hidden desires in each of them. Based on the stage musical by Richard O'Brien (who also appears in the film as Riff Raff), the film comes alive with unforgettable song-and-dance numbers that have come to represent the sexual liberation of the 1970s. The outstanding costuming and makeup, the terrific acting by a group of relative unknowns (Curry, O'Brien, Bostwick, Sarandon, Nell Campbell, Patricia Quinn, Meat Loaf), and the memorable songs ("Time Warp," "Sweet Tranvestite") help make The Rocky Horror Picture Show one of the most bizarrely entertaining and satisfying musicals ever made." - From IMDB.com
SHOW: Since it's 1975 release, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has evolved into a phenomenon. Live casts all over the world perform the movie while it is being shown on a movie screen, even duplicating the costumes, movements, and props. Over the years, audience participation (AP) lines have been created to shout during gaps in dialogue to get laughs, frequently using profanity and sexual themes. Another Rocky tradition involves the audience using specific props during the movie, such as throwing rice during the wedding scene, toast during a toast, and more ("prop bags" are available through the cast). People who have never seen a live performance of the movie are known as "virgins" and go through an embarassing, but harmless, de-virginization ritual before the movie starts. At our theatre, a live cast, called "Interchangeable Parts," performs "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on Saturday nights at 11:50pm. The show is adult-oriented and rated R (no one under 17 admitted without parent or guardian). Parental discretion is advised.
THEME NIGHTS:
- MVI UNLEASHED! - (POSTPONED) "Interchangeable Parts" and "Mango Video Inc" will be hosting a "MVI UNLEASHED" show! Our video team that puts together the videos before every show started an annual tradition 2 years ago for April Fools Day where they edited the movie, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that played up on the screen that night, adding in funny sound effects, changing the speed of scenes, dubbing songs in, etc, all without telling the cast members (who were on stage performing) what to expect. In the end, we were left with embarassed, but amused cast members and very memorable shows. The 'regulars' really loved the editing, too. It's amazing what that team can do with a computer. This only happens once a year and each year is unique, so you do NOT want to miss it!
